MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010040 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'adjustable backpack fastening device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sunil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable backpack fastening device includes a body 1 installed on one end of a backpack's strap, a slot 3 through which strap is passed for engaging body 1 with strap, a microphone 4 for receiving user's voice command regrading fastening of strap, a frame 5 arranged on other end of strap that is inserted within body 1 by user, a plate 6 integrated within frame 5 and integrated with at least three rods 7 each via a hinge joint that engages rods 7 with a pair of cavities 9 integrated on body 1 to interlock frame 5 with body 1, two rollers 8 integrated on lateral ends of slot 3 via two sliding units 2 that translates rollers 8 followed by actuation of the rollers 8 to rotate for passing strap towards a pre-defined direction to loosen/tighten strap, in case user's input corresponds to loosening/tightening of the strap."
