MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019648 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 16, 2024, for 'adjustable back supporting device for weightlifting.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ekta Kapoor; and Dr. Meenakshi Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable back supporting device for weightlifting, encompasses a wearable body 1 designed to fit around the user's waist and employs an imaging unit 6 to assess the user's waist size and accordingly motorized hinge joints 7 that are installed within the body 1 adjust its size, with a laser sensor on body 1 detects the user's posture during lifting, and there are primary motorized hinge joints that extend plates 8 to provide knee support, an extendable telescopic rod 9 with secondary motorized hinges supports the neck, as a microphone 12 allows voice commands for additional support and, a tertiary motorized hinge joint moves a plank to assist with lifting."
