MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441013732 A) filed by Thirumalai Anandampillai Vijayan; and Thirumalai Anandampillai Apama, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 26, 2024, for 'adjustable arch support for footwear.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "This invention is a novel arch support for all types of foot wear for people with flat feet. It has a shon square/ polygonal pillar in the sole below talus, navicular bone area of foot with a top groove. Three segments each with a short square/polygonal pillar, a fit on bottom groove and an upper groove for top segment helps in height of arch suppon. Topmost segment has a soft upper lengthwise arch to fit and support talus, navicular, cuneiform and part of metatarsal bones. Measure foot arch height and fit segments an arch pillar as needed on both feet and walk. Squared pillar profile steadies arch segments with no twist in walk."
