MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005878 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 29, 2024, for 'adjustable acceleration assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Mirgender Kumar; Sarbpreet Kaur; and Pardeep Kumar Jindal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adjustable acceleration assistive device for two-wheeler encompasses a cylindrical body 1 placed over an accelerator of a two-wheeler, with a curved member 2 for the front brake lever, a pressure sensor on body detects a handicapped user's hand placement and pressure, also the body 1 includes a high-torque DC motor 3 for providing rotational motion to accelerator for vehicle acceleration, an ultrasonic sensor within member 2 detects the position of lever, and is secured by U-shaped telescopic link 5, a RADAR sensor on body 1 detects nearby obstacles and distances in respect to which an microcontroller manages the motor 3, reversing acceleration when needed as a motorized hinge moves the member 2 to apply brake for stopping the vehicle, an imaging unit 7 on body helps the microcontroller set a safe speed limit, restricting the accelerator to prevent accidents."
