MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003987 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 19, 2024, for 'adhesive tape spool manufacturing device.'
Inventor(s) include Shalinder Chopra.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adhesive tape spool manufacturing device, comprising a housing 1 installed with cylindrical member 2 to be manually accommodated with a tape roll, a touch enabled screen 3 for enabling user to input commands regarding number of spools in which tape roll is to be cut and length of an adhesive tape, a camera 4 mounted within housing 1 for capturing multiple images of roll, multiple circular blades 5 via set of telescopically operated rods 6 to extend for positioning blades 5 in contact with roll, a telescopically operated gripper 8 installed within housing 1 for accommodating spools over motorized cylindrical unit 9, a motorized sliding unit 12 installed within housing 1 for translating a vertical plate 11 towards frame 10, a pair of robotic arms 15 for adhering free-end of tape on spools and an RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) sensor for detecting RPM of unit 9."
