MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531018757 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 3, for 'additional seating device for a bicycle.'
Inventor(s) include Rajeswari Chaini.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An additional seating device for a bicycle comprises of a rectangular horizontal plate 101 and rectangular flap 102 attached with the plate 101 by means of a hinge 103 for a seating of a user on the flap 102, an U-shaped member 104 attached under a front edge of the flap 102 with rectangular trays for enabling a user to accommodate foot over the trays, a telescopic bar 105 attached behind the flap 102 via a ball and socket joint integrated with a clamp 106 which is installed at other end of the bar 105 by means of a spring 107 for gripping onto a handle of a bicycle, two telescopic rods 108 attached underneath the flap 102, ends of the omnidirectional motorized wheels 109 for a locomotion along with a bicycle, and an imaging unit 110, installed on the plate 101 to determine height of the user."
