MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105021 A) filed by Chitkara University; and Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'adaptive resting device.'

Inventor(s) include Gagan Sharma; and Sunidhi Kumari.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptive resting device comprising a dual-layer member 101 comprising an upper and a bottom layer 103 for resting, a foam layer 104 to fill a volume between the upper and bottom layer 103 providing comfort to the user, a plurality of zones 105 defined over the member 101 supported by an extendable support means provided between the upper and bottom layer 103 while adjusting a vertical distance, a pressure distribution layer installed in the upper layer 102 detecting pressure applied over the member 101, a pressure control module with a control unit receiving pressure readings of the pressure distribution layer, a heating element 106 integrated in each of the zones 105 enabling thermal control over the member 101 and a humidity sensor integrated in each zone 105 of the member 101 to detect a wet region causing the heating elements 106 to accelerate evaporation from the wet region."
