MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541132804 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'adaptive -state -of -charge estimation system for electric two-wheelers operating under varying load.'

Inventor(s) include A. Venkatesh; Dr. A. Senthilkumar; and K. Durgalakshmi.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptive State-of-Charge estimate system for electric two-wheelers that can operate under a variety of load circumstances is disclosed in the innovation. While the system is in operation, the value of the SoC is dynamically updated by the system through the utilization of real-time data of the battery voltage, current, temperature, and vehicle load factors. For the purpose of compensating for voltage fluctuations, temperature variations, regenerative energy flow, and the impacts of battery ageing, a hybrid estimating approach is utilized. The approach offers enhanced SoC accuracy and dependable range indicator when applied to a 150cc-equivalent electric motorcycle driven by a lithium-ion battery pack. This is in comparison to the standard estimation techniques that are currently in use."
