MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023107 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'adaptable zipper repairing assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable zipper repairing assistive device, comprises a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface, plurality of suctions cups 2 adheres the platform 1 on the surface, a slot 3 accommodates commodity with broken zipper, an imaging unit 4 captures images of the platform 1, a pair of robotic clippers 5 grips ends of the zipper that is proximal to the damaged teeth, a robotic arm 6 grabs damaged teeth of the zipper, a multi-sectioned chamber 7 stores multiple teeth of varying types, a LiDAR sensor determines dimensions of the teeth, an expandable cylindrical member 8 expand/contract for expanding gaps of the teeth, a pressure sensor monitors pressure applied by the arm 6 on the teeth."
