MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025510 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable wig applying device.'
Inventor(s) include Priyanka Nehra; Jasvir Kaur; and Preeti Ban.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable wig applying device, comprising a body 1 designed to positioned on user's head, an imaging unit 2 installed on body 1 to determine user's upper body 1 dimension, motorized clamps 3 arranged underneath the body 1 to extend for positioning clamps 3 on user's shoulder, a multi-sectioned chamber 4 is arranged inside the body 1 and accessed by a pair of robotic arms 5 installed inside the body 1 for gripping the wig from chamber 4; a container 6 arranged inside body 1 and integrated with an electronically controlled nozzle 7 to dispense an adhesive stored in the container 6 on artificial hair, a motorized roller 8 arranged on the body 1 by via an extendable links for positioning the roller 8 over the user's head to applies pressure on the positioned wig to affix on the user's head."
