MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020075 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'adaptable wheel maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Avinav Pathak; Sumika Jain; Vijay Maheshwari; and Arun Kumar Giri.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable wheel maintenance device, comprising a frame 1 configured with an AI-based imaging unit 3 to determine positioning of consecutive wheels with respect to frame 1, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 4 arranged on frame 1 for getting positioned in between wheels, an ultrasonic sensor mapped on rod 4 for determining distance in between wheels, a disc 5 integrated at apex of rod 4 and integrated with an expandable pulley arrangement for orienting disc 5 in a manner that periphery of disc 5 is in contact with periphery of wheels, a friction sensor for monitoring friction level of wheels along with thickness of deposited soil, a motor to rotate disc 5 to scrape out deposited soil from wheel's periphery by teeth 6, and a tweezer 7 integrated on rod 4 by means of an extendable bar 8 for gripping and plucking out any sharp object from periphery of wheels."
