MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025508 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable walking assistive device for snowy surfaces.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Inderpreet Kaur; Rajinder Kumar; Ridhima Jain; and Manya Bhasin.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable walking assistive device for snowy surfaces comprises an elongated body 1 integrated with a handle 4 accessed by a user for gripping on the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit determine height of the user, a linear actuator integrated in the body 1 to extend/retract for positioning a second 3 end on a ground surface, a sensing module monitors parameters of hardness and friction of the surface, plurality of telescopically operated pins 5 are integrated at the second 3 end to extend in a downward direction, an accelerometer installed on the body 1 for monitoring movements of the user, a motorized slider 6 integrated in between the second 3 end and pins 5 to translate the pins 5, a gyroscope monitors angle of the body 1 with respect to the surface, and a speaker 7 integrated on the body 1 to produce audio notification."
