MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022855 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 23, 2024, for 'adaptable under surface dowel installation device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable under surface dowel installation device, comprising a body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, an imaging unit 2 to generate a 3-dimensional map of the body 1, a display panel 3 accessed by a user for selecting a point on the surface where an under surface dowel installation is to be performed, plurality of motorized wheels 4 to move body 1 to the user-selected point on the surface, a hydraulically operated rod 5 to extend for positioning a sharp rectangular blade 6 in proximity to the point, a motorized gripper 8 to cautiously flip the carved layer, a motorized drilling unit 9 to drill a hole on the surface, underneath the carved layer and a multi-sectioned chamber 10 gripper 8 for accessing a dowel stored in the chamber 10 in the drilled hole for installing the dowel in the surface."
