MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025579 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable swimming pool cleaning device.'

Inventor(s) include Anil Kumar; Shamshad Hussain; Y. P. Malik; and Neha Rani.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable swimming pool cleaning device comprises a floatable body 1 configured with a telescopically operated rod 2 for positioning a tear-shaped structure 3 submerged in the water, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed on the structure 3 to determine location of deposition of dirt on floor of the pool, a motorized propeller 5 installed on the structure 3 for moving the structure 3, a hydraulic plunger 6 arranged on the structure 3 for positioning a U-shaped member 7 integrated on plunger 6 in proximity to the deposited dirt, a sharp-edged plate 8 for disengaging the dirt form the floor, a meshed flap 9 installed on ends of the member 7 for allowing water to flow inside out of the member 7 leading to engagement of dirt/debris in the water, and plurality of suction units 10 integrated on the flap 9 for extracting the dirt/deposit from the flap 9."
