MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024678 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable surface covering assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Yasmeen Shahid; and Dr. Saumya Shah.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable surface covering assistive device, comprising a L-shaped frame 1 accessed by a user to position the frame 1 on a fixed surface to be covered, an imaging unit 2 installed on the frame 1 to determine deposition of dust on the surface, a C-shaped hollow structure 3 arranged on the body positioned towards the deposited dust, a suction pump 4 configured in the structure 3 for extracting deposited dust from the surface, motorized roller 5 arranged on the structure 3 to rotate for unwrapping a sheet from the roller 5, a motorized winch 6 arranged on the structure 3 to rotate for unwrapping a tape, a second robotic arm 7 integrated on the frame 1 for placing the tape on the surface and a metallic plate 8 installed on the frame 1 to move the frame 1 along the surface for layering the surface with the sheet."
