MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025589 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable sunflower-seeds reaping assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Sahdev Singh; Manoj Kumar; Reetesh Pratap Singh; and Sonam Arya.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable sunflower-seeds reaping assistive device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface of an agricultural field, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 generates a 3-Dimensional mapping of surroundings of platform 1 and displayed on a touch interactive display panel 9 to allow a user to select an area, plurality of motorized wheels 3 moves platform 1 near point, a plate 4 is aligned to determined height by an Archimedes spiral gear arrangement 5. a color sensor detects discoloration of a sunflower plant of yield for determining stage of plant, in case detected color corresponds to brown then a particular point from where sunflower plant is to be harvested is evaluated, a motorized cutting unit 6 is positioned near evaluated point for cutting sunflower plant from evaluated point that is collected by a robotic arm 8 for positioning gripped sunflower on cut part of plant."
