MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024917 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable sun drying device for edibles.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable sun drying device for edibles comprises a frame 1 to be suspended from a fixed support, a hook 2 for engaging frame 1 on support, a cylindrical body 3 integrated with plurality of chambers 4 for storing different edibles, plurality of telescopically operated links 5 for maintaining an optimum distance, a LDR for monitoring intensity of light, multiple motorized hinges 6 to tilt portions of body 3, a timer 7 for monitoring time duration of drying of edibles, a motorized gripper 8 integrated with a flap 9 for tossing/turning sides of accommodated edible, a moisture sensor for monitoring moisture content of stored edibles, a motorized iris lid 10 to get opened for allowing dried edibles to get transferred in a container 11, a meshed fabric 12 to cover body 3 and an ultrasonic emitter to produce ultrasonic vibrations for deterring any insect/animal approaching towards frame 1."
