MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024834 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable skiing assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Smriti Verma; Ruhani Mahajan; Akanksha Chandel; and Neha Saxena.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable skiing assistive device, comprising of a frame 1 having a first and second portion, a seating unit 2 for enabling a user to sit, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing and processing multiple images of the frame 1, a pair of motorized rollers 4 coiled with straps 5 to rotate for unwrapping the straps 5, a robotic arm 6 to grip ends of straps 5, a skiing unit having a pair of elongated plates 8 by means of plurality of rods 9 for supporting the seating unit 2, a touch interactive display panel 10 for enabling a user to provide input regarding distance to which the user desires to ski, a microphone 11 is integrated on the frame 1 for enabling the user to provide input voice commands, plurality of motorized wheels 12, plurality of studs 13 for providing a firm grip on the surface."
