MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024907 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable seed extracting assistive device for drupe fruits.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable seed extracting assistive device for drupe fruits, comprises a cylindrical body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, a pair of suction cups 2 adheres to surface, a microphone 3 accessed by the user give input commands, an imaging unit 4 captures images of the vicinity, a telescopically operated rod 5 extends and retracts to adjust with user's height, a pair of plates 6 accommodates fruit, a linear actuator extends/retracts for inserting an elongated pin 7 integrated with the actuator to remove seed, a robotic gripper 8 acquires a grip of lateral ends of the fruit, a container 9 collects seedless fruit, a speaker 10 notifies the user to collect seedless fruit, a curved slider lid deploy for getting positioned over the plates 6 to cover the device."
