MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006912 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'adaptable safety guard device.'

Inventor(s) include Rajwinder Singh; Dr. Harpal Singh; Dr. Ramandeep Saini; and Anshika.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable safety guard device, comprising a frame 1 having a semi-cylindrical plate 2 to be worn by a user over forearm. artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing multiple images in vicinity of the frame to determine dimensions of user's forearm. drawer arrangement 4 integrated on plate to extend/retract the plate as per the determined dimensions. plurality of motorized rollers 5 coiled with a looped strap 6 for tightening/loosening the strap 6 over the user's forearm. circular flap 7 arranged on body for protecting the user's face from a launched ball, speed gun 8 arranged on the frame for determining velocity of launched ball. plurality of containers 11 arranged at periphery of the flap, each integrated with an electronically controlled nozzle 9 for hardening flap in order to combat impact of ball on flap. expandable pulley arrangement 10 is integrated on flap to expand/contract flap."
