MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026032 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'adaptable painting assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable painting assistive device comprises of, a cuboidal extendable body 1 constructed with multiple extendable plates 2, having a first and second portion, arrange with multiple hollow bristles 4 for painting a surface a microphone 8 to give input commands for painting a surface placed in proximity to the body 1, along with selecting color to be painted, an imaging unit for detecting dimensions of the surface, a drawer arrangement for extending/retracting the plates 2 to alter dimensions of the plate, multiple pneumatic pins 5 to extend for positioning suitable number of the bristles 4 in contact with the surface, an an electric pump in to pump the paint towards the bristles 4, and a motorized iris to open for dispensing the paint to comfortably paint the surface."
