MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025405 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable metal ring resizing device.'

Inventor(s) include Jasgurpreet Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable metal ring resizing device, comprising a body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, a display panel 2 installed on the body 1 for providing input commands, a vertical conical structure 3 arranged on the body 1 for inserting a metal ring, an imaging unit 4 installed on the body 1 to determine dimension of the ring, a flame torch 5 mounted on the platform for heating the ring, a robotic arm 6 installed on the body 1 to grip the ring, a pair of motorized rollers 7 arranged on the body 1 coiled with a looped sharp string for cutting the ring, a hydraulic actuator 8 integrated on the body 1 for applying a pushing force on the rings for compressing the ring and a welding torch 9 integrated on the body 1 to perform point to point welding on ends of the ring."
