MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019777 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'adaptable light refraction-based illumination device.'

Inventor(s) include R. P. Agarwal; Shamshad Hussain; Vandana Kanyal; and Dipika Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable light refraction-based illumination device comprising, a dome-shaped member 1 developed to be installed over roof of a building, the member 1 is arranged with a transparent sheet 2 for passing maximum intensity of sunlight rays incident on the member 1 at daytime, multiple L-shaped tubular arrangement 3 integrated in continuation with the member 1 for receiving passed rays, a LDR (light dependent resistor) sensor 4 mapped on the member 1 for monitoring incident angle and intensity of rays being incident on the member 1, an opening mapped on free end of the arrangement which if fixed on ceiling or wall of the building and secured with a transparent covering herein the increased intensity of light rays is exposed to the covering which imparts an illuminating glow on the covering for providing light within the building."
