MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006940 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'adaptable gas leakage alerting device.'

Inventor(s) include Satwinder Singh; Dr. Amresh Kumar; and Dr. Rachin Goyal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable gas leakage alerting device comprises of a frame 1 having a semi-circular ring 2 developed to be engaged on a junction in between gas pipe and knob of burner, frame 1 is integrated with an ultrasonic sensor for monitoring dimensions of pipe fitted on junction, pair of cylindrical members 3 integrated with on ends of ring 2 for threading members 3 with each other in manner that frame 1 is encircled around pipe, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 captures multiple images in vicinity of frame 1, motorized gripper 7 adjusts knob 6 in manner to tighten frame 1 around pipe, MOS gas sensor for monitoring presence of gas leakage from pipe, plurality of motorized wheels 8 integrated on inner periphery of ring 2 to move frame 1 along pipe, acoustic sensor embedded on frame 1 for monitoring sound corresponding to releasing of gas from pipe."
