MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024849 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'adaptable food preparation assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Tejinder Pal Singh Brar; Dr. Chamkaur Singh; Mukesh; and Khushi Gupta.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable food preparation assistive device that is comprises of, a plate 1 integrated with a handle 2 that is accessed by a user for acquiring a grip on the plate 1 for positioning the distal end over a vessel utilized for cooking food, an imaging unit 6 to determine alignment of the plate 1 with respect vessel, an ultrasonic sensor for monitoring amount of the vegetables/ingredients dispensed by the user on the plate 1, a pair of flaps 3 to get deployed for establishing a boundary on sides of the plate 1 in order to prevent falling of dispensed vegetables/ingredients from the plate 1, multiple partitioning structures by means of a pair of motorized sliding units 7 to translate the structures along the plate 1, and a motorized hinge to tilt portion of plate 1 for orienting the distal end at a required alignment with the vessel."
