MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026180 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 29, 2024, for 'adaptable eraser-dust removal assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Jasveer Singh Rana; R. K. Jain; Anil Kumar; and Gargi Chaudhary.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable eraser-dust removal assistive device, comprises a semicircular frame 1 positioned on a writing surface for performing cleaning function, an imaging unit 2 captures images of vicinity to determine deposition of eraser dust on paper, plurality of motorized wheels 3 move for positioning the frame 1 in proximity of deposited dust, a motorized roller 4 arranged on the frame 1 by means of telescopically operated L-shaped link that extract/retract the roller 4 over the dust, an ultrasonic sensor detects a wrinkled portion of paper, pair of motorized flap 6 open/close for applying pressure on wrinkled surface to smoothen the surface, plurality of brushes 7 transfer the deposited dust, a tray 8 collects dust from the brushes 7, a suction unit 9 extract collected dust from the tray 8, waste chamber 10 collects the deposited dust."
