MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012454 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'adaptable emergency rescue device for four-wheelers.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable emergency rescue device for four-wheelers, comprises of a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface at different accident prone locations, a GPS (global positioning system) module for monitoring real time location of the body 1, motorized wheels 2 to move the body 1 towards the location, an imaging unit 3 to determine accidental condition of the four-wheeler, an electronically controlled nozzle 5 to spray a fire extinguisher stored within the cylinder 4 in order to extinguish fire on the four-wheeler, a motorized winch 6 coiled with a cable 7 for wrapping/unwrapping the cable 7, a hook 8 for uplifting or shifting the four-wheeler in an appropriate and secure manner, and a pair of rotatable blades 12 for cutting the windshield in order to rescue a victim trapped within the four-wheeler."
