MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024172 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'adaptable door guarding device against water calamities.'

Inventor(s) include Rohan Karan; and Mohd Anish.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable door guarding device against water calamities, comprising a frame 1 installed on door of an enclosure situated at a water flood prone area, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 determines dimensions of door, a plate 3 integrated with a drawer arrangement to extend/retract plate 3 for adjusting frame 1 on door, two extendable flaps extends for acquiring a grip on lateral ends of door, two supporting bars 5 arranged at lateral sides of plate 3, each by means of a telescopically operated rods for positioning bars 5 on a fixed support, multiple suction cups 6 for adhering bars 5 on support supporting plate 3 on door, an elongated suction unit 7 sealing ground clearance of door, a proximity sensor determines distance of water from door, a level sensor determines level of water, and a pump 8 ejects water away."
