MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018805 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'adaptable defogging device for windshields.'

Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable defogging device for windshields includes an elongated body 1 mounted on top of the windshield, an imaging unit 2 to determine length of the windshield, a drawer arrangement to extend/retract over the windshield, an IR sensor 3 and a dust sensor 4 for monitoring deposition of contaminants on the windshield, a telescopic rod 5 that extends in a downward manner to position plurality of scrubbers 8 to get aligned at different distances on the windshield, a chamber 6 used for storing cleaning solution, an electronically controlled nozzle 7 to dispense the cleaning solution on the windshield, followed by activation of the scrubbers 8 to rotate for cleaning the contaminants of the windshield, a temperature sensor used to monitor the surrounding temperature of the windshield and a Peltier unit generates heat to maintain a balanced temperature on the windshield which convert fog into water droplets."
