MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024137 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'adaptable climbing assistive device for off-road vehicles.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable climbing assistive device for off-road vehicles, comprising a frame 1 developed to be installed underneath floor of an off-road vehicle, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the frame 1 to determine open/close state of the vehicle's door, a hydraulically operated bar 3 arranged underneath the frame 1 for positioning a plate 4 integrated on the bar 3 in proximity to end of the floor, a motorized slider 5 installed at mid portion of the plate 4 to extend in a downward direction along with the plate 4, plurality of horizontally aligned planks 6 are integrated on the slider 5 to accommodate the person's feet on the plank 6 in order to climb till floor of the vehicle."
