MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025521 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'adaptable carpet maintenance assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Sarabjit Kaur; Kirti Rani; and Kritika.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable carpet maintenance assistive device, comprising a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface laid with a carpet, plurality of motorized wheels 2 move platform 1 over surface, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 detect a wrinkled portion on carpet, a LiDAR sensor determines distance of platform 1 and plane surface near to wrinkled portion, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 4 extends for positioning a suction unit 5 on surface for securing platform 1 on surface, thereafter the wheels 2 move on platform 1 in forward direction for applying a pulling force on wrinkled portion, and followed by synchronized actuation of rod 4 to extend/retract for maintaining position of suction unit 5, thereby removing wrinkled portions on carpet."
