MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023475 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'adaptable berries harvesting assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable berries harvesting assistive device, comprising an elongated body 1 having a proximal 2 and distal end 3 equipped with a handle 4 that is accessed by a user, an imaging unit 5 to determine position of a bunch of berries on the tree, a telescopically operated rod 6 to extend/retract for positioning the distal end 3 in proximity to the bunch of berries, a cuboidal chamber 7 for getting positioned underneath bunch, plurality of bars 9 configured with plurality of telescopically operated pins 10 to extend/retract for positioning the pins 10 underneath the bunch and the motorized hinge joint 11 to provide converging/diverging movement to bar for allowing the pins 10 to pluck the berries from the bunch that are collected in the chamber 7, thereby assisting the user in harvesting the berries on the tree."
