MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441076685 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Oct. 9, 2024, for 'adaptable basin-drain pipe installation assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable basin-drain pipe installation assistive device, comprising a platform 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, wheels 2 for moving the platform 1 over the surface, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 to determine position of an installed pipe underneath the sink, robotic link 4 for positioning a motorized cutter 5 to cut the pipe, robotic gripper 6 for removing the installed pipe from the sink, robotic arm 7 acquire a grip of the pipe stored in a multi-sectioned chamber 8, C-shaped clamp 9 for enabling the arm 7 to accommodate the gripped pipe in the clamp 9, telescopically operated L-shaped rod 10 for positioning the accommodated pipe near to cavity of the basin, motorized guiding rail 11 for fixing the pipe with the sink and speaker 12 to produce audio signals for guiding the user to install the pipe from upper side of the sink."
