MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022898 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 23, 2024, for 'adaptable air drag maintenance device for heavy vehicles.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptable air drag maintenance device for heavy vehicles, comprising a frame 1 developed to be installed on rear portion of a heavy vehicle, the frame 1 is installed with an imaging unit 2 to determine dimensions of the rear portion, plurality of telescopically operated rods 3 arranged on the frame 1 for adjusting the frame 1 at the rear portion, an anemometer 4 mounted on the frame 1 for monitoring velocity of air in surrounding of the vehicle, a mesh-like bulged structure 5 arranged on the frame 1 for the said structure 5 at optimum angle in order to reduce air drag on the vehicle and plurality of LEDs (light emitting diodes) 6 integrated on the frame 1 to get illuminated for enhancing visibility of driver of the vehicle or approaching vehicle in order to prevent chances of collision of the vehicle."
