MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011197 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 10, for 'acupressure application assistive device for ear.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Laxmidhar Maharana.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An acupressure application assistive device for ear, comprising a C-shaped extendable frame 101 configured with a gripping handle 102, a microphone 103 to receive voice command of user regarding requirement of pinching of helix of the user's ear at specific acupressure point to get relieve from body pain, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 104 for capturing and processing images of the helix to determine dimensions of the helix and determines location of the user- specified acupressure point over the helix, a speaker 105 produce a voice command to guide the user to position a pair of plates 106 around the determined location and electromagnetic springs 107 to extend and retract in a to provide movement to distal ends of the plates 106 towards each other to press the determined location providing acupressure over the determined location."
