MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421031744 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Nashik, Maharashtra, on April 22, 2024, for 'accumulator for fuel supply system.'

Inventor(s) include Amit Kumar Soni; and Rishabh Jain.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Fuel accumulator in fuel supply system of fighter aircraft provides cavitation free fuel supply to engine irrespective of 'g' loads in flight with zero overload. The fuel accumulator comprises, A housing made of two metallic half shell (1,2) and flexible rubber-fabric membrane assembly (3) which are connected among themselves with Nuts (5), bolts (4), washers (6). Airtightness is ensured with seals (24). Inside accumulator housing is divided into air chamber (7) and fuel chamber (8) by means of membrane (3) to accommodate air and fuel respectively. Fuel connection (9) for fuel flowing into and out of the fuel chamber (8) and air connection (16) for air flowing into and out of air chamber (7), a drain connection (11) on air side metallic half shell (2) for draining fuel out, a breather connection (12) in fuel chamber flange (13) to avoid over pressurization of fuel chamber."
