MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617018837 A) filed by Unicharm Corporation, Shikokuchuo, Japan, on Feb. 19, for 'accommodating body for absorbent articles.'
Inventor(s) include Ichikawa, Makoto; and Derry, Ridha Raina.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An absorbent article accommodating body (100) comprises a plurality of absorbent articles (1) encompassing a longitudinal direction, a lateral direction, and a thickness direction that are orthogonal to one other, and an accommodating member (120) for accommodating the plurality of absorbent articles (1), wherein: the accommodating member (120) comprises at least a layer of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer; each absorbent article (1) comprises an absorbent core and a fragrance, and when unfolded in the longitudinal direction, has a pair of folded portions in which both end portions, in the lateral direction, of the absorbent core are folded to a skin side, and a non-folded portion in which the absorbent core is not folded; when the absorbent article (1) is unfolded in the longitudinal direction and viewed in the thickness direction of the absorbent article (1), the non-folded portion has an overlapping portion that overlaps the folded portion and a non-overlapping portion that does not overlap the folded portion; the non-overlapping portion extends in the longitudinal direction; and the overlapping portion has a part that overlaps the fragrance."
