MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517097673 A) filed by Unicharm Corporation, Ehime, Japan, on Oct. 10, for 'absorbent article and method for manufacturing same.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided is an absorbent article comprising an antibacterial liquid containing an antibacterial agent and an organic solvent, wherein the antibacterial agent is hardly crystallized even when mixed with a body fluid containing moisture, such as urine and menstrual blood, and the antibacterial agent can be easily brought into contact with the body fluid. An absorbent article comprises: a sheet (2) including a plurality of fibers (20); and an antibacterial liquid (10) applied to the sheet. The antibacterial liquid contains an organic and hydrophilic antibacterial agent and a hydrophilic and nonvolatile organic solvent. The antibacterial liquid has a viscosity of 100-12000 mPa s at 25 C. The antibacterial liquid has: intersection antibacterial sections (10b) formed at intersections (20x) in at least two of the plurality of fibers; and convex antibacterial sections (10a) formed so as to be raised from the fiber surface at positions separated from the plurality of intersections in each of the plurality of fibers."
