MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517018200 A) filed by Saint-Gobain Abrasives, Inc.; and Saint-Gobain Abrasifs, Worcester, U.S.A., on March 1, for 'abrasive particles including coating, abrasive article including the abrasive particles, and method of forming.'

Inventor(s) include Shi, Zehua; Li, Daming; Song, Xiaochao; Zhang, Jianfeng; Niu, Haoran; Leveille, Benjamin; Becker, Melissa; Luo, Zhenyu; and Luo, Aiyun.

The application for the patent was published on May 30, under issue no. 22/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The following is directed to an abrasive particle having a body including a core and a coating overlying at least a portion of the core. The coating can include a content of lithium. In an embodiment, the coating can further include silicon, oxygen, or a combination thereof."

The patent application was internationally filed on Sept. 22, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/074904.
