MUMBAI, India, July 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521060953 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Bombay, Maharashtra, on June 26, for 'a wicked flow electrolyzer.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a wicked flow electrolyzer (100). The wick provides a medium for the transport of ions between the electrodes and a means to drain down the products of the reaction, assisted by gravity, without flooding the electrodes. The wicked flow electrolyzer of the present invention shows enhanced electrolyte distribution, ion transport, reduces electrolyte flooding, improves safety, better thermal management, longer lifespan and stability. Particularly, a wicked flow electrolyzer (100) is provided for electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide."
