MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641006706 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Jan. 23, for 'a vehicle driver alertness system.'
Inventor(s) include K Vinayaka Madhava Sharma; Bharath D R; Chethana M Naik; and Mr. Mahabaleshwara Sharma K.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a vehicle driver alertness system (100) comprises a central processing unit (102) configured to execute real-time driver-monitoring algorithms, analyse multimodal sensor data, and generate alert signals. The system also includes a vision-based monitoring module (104) configured to capture real-time facial images. The system also includes a physiological sensing module (106) configured to measure pulse characteristics. The system also includes a drowsiness-detection unit (108) configured to compute Percentage of Eye Closure (PERCLOS), classify fatigue levels from vision and physiological data. The system also includes an alert-generation module (110) configured to provide multimodal feedback. The system also includes a pulse-transformer-based stimulation unit (112) configured to generate low-energy, time-bound electrical pulses, the transformer providing galvanic isolation. The system also includes a safety-control module (114) configured to regulate stimulation intensity, prevent electrical surges, and ensure that the electrical feedback."
