MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019930 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, New Delhi, on March 18, 2024, for 'a valve train system for use in a combustion engine for rust prevention.'

Inventor(s) include Sanjay; Jaspreet Singh; Chandan Kumar; Prateek Chandiok; Sarthak Swain; Sandeep Kumar; Anil Kant Bharti; and Narinder Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a valve train system (200) having one or more exhaust valves (202) and a valve guide (100) housing a portion of the one or more exhaust valves (202). Herein, a first portion (202-1) of the one or more exhaust valves (200) is made up of austenitic steel or like materials, and the valve guide (100) houses a segment of the first portion (202-1) of the one or more exhaust valves (202). Further, a second portion (202-2) of the one or more exhaust valves (202) is made up of martensitic steel and like materials. The valve guide (100) resembles a hollow cylindrical structure and comprises of an outer surface (102), an inner surface (104), where the inner surface (104) is defining a mesh structure (106) to facilitate draining of water and like fluids from all sides to prevent corrosion of the exhaust valve (202)."
