MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341080533 A) filed by Heavy Vehicles Factory, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Nov. 28, 2023, for 'a universal intermediate bimetallic serration adaptor for metric/imperial power chucks of various sizes.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a universal intermediate bimetallic serration adaptor for metric/imperial power chucks of various sizes comprising an integrally formed bronze cast layer and a steel plate layer, with serrations on both sides for compatibility with both metric and imperial power chuck standard, a self-aligning guide button unit, facilitating precise alignment during insertion between a power chuck and jaws, and a fastening device for secure attachment. Additionally, the adaptor includes leaf plates for accurate height adjustment and alignment of jaws, serving as measurement and truing devices; the said dual-sided serration design on the bimetallic plate allows for compatibility with diverse serration specifications, enhancing the adaptor's versatility."
