MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541108939 A) filed by Exigent Drilling Technologies FZ Llc, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, on Nov. 10, 2025, for 'a unibody non-planar cutting element.'

Inventor(s) include Sandeep Tammineni.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a unibody non planar cutting element for drill bits. A plurality of the unibody non planar cutting elements can be incorporated into a drill bit. The cutting element comprises a unibody structure having a cylindrical base and a top portion. The top portion forms a conical shaped cutting surface. The conical shaped cutting surface has a ridge that extends longitudinally along a curved surface of the conical cutting surface. The ridge forms an angle in the range of 30 to 150 with respect to the curved surface of the conical cutting surface. The ridge width varies from 0.08 to 0.96 times the diameter (D) of the cutting element."
