MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531017176 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology, Patna, Bihar, on Feb. 27, 2025, for 'a tribometer cell for a pin on disc tribometer.'
Inventor(s) include Chiranjit Sarkar; and Bittu Kumar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a tribometer cell (100) and a pin-on-disc tribometer (200) with an electromagnet which is used to perform the tribological test of conducting/non-conducting fluid. The tribometer cell (100) can measure the tribological characteristics of conducting fluid (such as ferrofluid, and magnetorheological fluid) at variable/controlled magnetic fields as well as non-conducting lubricants at zero DC input."
