MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087565 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, New Delhi, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'a transmission assembly of a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Ankit Garg; and S. Chandra Sekhar.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a transmission assembly (100) of a vehicle for protection of a transmission case (102) during impact. The assembly (100) comprises a protective bracket (104) coupled with joinery of the transmission case (102) and a transmission unit (101). The protective bracket (104) further comprises an elongated vertical wall (106) positioned perpendicular to the transmission case (102), the elongated vertical wall (106) is having a first portion (106-1), a second portion (106-2) and a third portion (106-3). The protective bracket (104) further comprises at least two mounting regions (108) extending perpendicularly from a longitudinal edge (114) of the first portion (106-1) and the third portion (106-3), respectively, towards the transmission case (102) and a horizontal wall (112) extending perpendicularly from opposite longitudinal edge (116) of the second portion (106-2) to cover at least a portion of the transmission case (102)."
