MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611005850 A) filed by Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Jan. 20, for 'a transdermal patch with microneedles for sustained insulin administration system design.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a transdermal patch (10) with microneedles (41) for sustained insulin administration. The patch includes a backing layer (20), an insulin reservoir (30), a microneedle array (40), and an adhesive layer (50). The microneedles create microchannels (61) in the skin, enabling controlled diffusion of insulin over extended periods. The system provides painless, minimally invasive insulin delivery with improved glycemic control, enhanced patient compliance, and reduced risk of injection-related complications."
