MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124705 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'a toothbrush with a detachable biodegradable bristle layer integrated into a sustainable hygiene system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a toothbrush with a detachable biodegradable bristle layer integrated into a sustainable hygiene system (100) comprises a one-piece handle and brush head unit (102) formed as a single continuous structure configured to provide long-term reusability without requiring replacement. The system also includes a detachable biodegradable bristle layer (104) mounted on the brush head configured to form the replaceable portion of the toothbrush. The system also includes a mechanical attachment interface (106) between the brush head and the detachable bristle layer configured to securely hold the bristle layer in position during brushing while permitting manual detachment without tools or adhesives."
