MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641044284 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 7, for 'a thermo gradient pain desensitization platform for neuropathic pain models in animals.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sathya Siva; and Dr. Deepak Nallaswamy Veeraiyan.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a thermo-gradient pam desensitization platform comprising a multi-zone surface having independently controlled temperature regions including cold, neutral, and hot zones, and a temperature control unit. The platform allows an animal to freely choose a preferred thermal zone, enabling assessment of thermal sensitivity, pain avoidance behavior, and gradual desensitization in neuropathic pain models. The system provides a non-invasive, self-regulated approach to pain modulation and rehabilitation research."
