MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441074892 A) filed by Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, on Oct. 3, 2024, for 'a test-rig for validating a tractor's main clutch-assembly at system-level thereof and testing method therefor..'

Inventor(s) include R. Raja; Yashwanth D; Chithravel Saravanan; Kailash Jat; S. Udayakumar; and Vijayakumar N.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A test-rig (100) for validating a tractor's main clutch-assembly (120) at system-level thereof, comprising: VFD (105); input-motor (110); clutch-assembly (120); lubrication-system (130); water-ballasted rear-tyres (140); clutch and transmission-assembly (150); and temperature monitoring system (160). The test-rig (100) is mounted on rigid base structure (165). Clutch and transmission assembly (150) is supported on bearing block (125) and includes brake-system (135) and clutch-pedal actuation mechanism (145) monitored by DEW ESoft (155). Clutch and transmission assembly (150) is mounted in-line with Candan shaft (112) of input-motor (110) fitted with input torque-cell (115). The method of validation comprises aligning input-motor (110) parallelly connected to VFD (105) and mounted on rigid base structure (165) by connecting it in-line with bearing block (125) and clutch and transmission assembly (150). Adjusting speed of input-motor (110) by VFD (105) to simulate field-operations at RWUP of clutch-assembly (120) at system-level by measuring input torque by torque-cell (115)."
